I’m Jane the Headteacher.  I’m responsible for all that happens at Battledown on a day to day basis and also for the long term strategic direction of the school.  I trained as an Early Years and Primary teacher and worked in mainstream schools for a number of years.  I developed a special interest in special needs which led me to Battledown which I joined as Deputy Head in 2000.  I became Acting Headteacher in September 2005 and was appointed permanent Head in February 2007.  I love my job as I get to meet so many children and parents and help them find out more about their needs and plan for the future.

Hello, I’m Mary Deputy Headteacher, and part-time teacher in Purple class. I came to Battledown in April 2009. I started my teaching career in a mainstream primary school in North London but quickly moved through a variety of other situations including teaching in a mobile van on a traveller site in West London.  My most recent post was in a Worcester city special school where I spent 14 years working within the nursery assessment unit doing very similar things as I do here.   I had believed that my previous placement was unique so was absolutely delighted to discover Battledown and feel very privileged to have joined the team.
