Your Child’s Opportunities and Achievements
The learning environment at Battledown will be free from prejudice and without discrimination. It will provide opportunities for children to seek new challenges and to practise and consolidate emerging skills. It will offer a wide range of experiences and a stimulating environment.
Your Child’s Assessment
The minimum period of assessment is usually 12 months, although it is recognised that there are children who may need to stay for a longer period. Your child will have been referred for a place at the school by Gloucestershire County Council.
Playing at Home
Involvement in your child's learning at home is as important as that of the school.
Early Learning Experiences of Young Children
Through the Early Years Foundation Stage we aim to provide each child with a rich and personalised learning experience like many parents give their children at home. Like parents, we deliver individualised learning, development and care that enhances the development of the children and gives the best possible start in life. Every child will be supported individually to make progress at their own pace and where children need extra support to fulfil their potential they receive special consideration.
Curriculum Statement
The curriculum is drawn from the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The Early Years Foundation Stage principles which guide the work of all practitioners are grouped into four distinct but complementary themes:-
- A Unique Child
- Positive Relationships
- Enabling Environments
- Learning and Development
